How to share a server in immers.cloud with other users?

To provide access to an existing virtual machine (VM) for other users, use the invitation management function in the control panel. This mechanism allows flexible permission configuration, connection time restrictions, and instant access revocation without modifying the VM configuration itself.

Creating an Invitation In the virtual machines list, open the Actions menu for the target VM and select Share. The system will redirect to the invitation management page. Click the Create button.

Configuring Access Parameters On the invitation configuration page, perform the following steps:

  • VM Selection: Specify the target VM. If only one active machine exists, it is selected automatically.
  • Access Permissions: Check the allowed operations for the invited user:
    • State Management: power on, power off (Stop), switch to archive mode (Shelve).
    • Resources and Security: increase disk space, retrieve the administrative password, download the private key.
    • Information: display tariff pricing, configuration, and credentials.
  • Credentials and Network: If necessary, replace the username, password, and IP address with custom values. By default, the VM parameters are applied.
  • Schedule: Specify days and time windows during which connection will be permitted.

After configuration, click Save.

Generating the Link and Sharing Instructions The system will generate an invitation summary page. Copy the generated link and share it with the user. Following the link opens a technical instruction page with ready-to-use commands for connecting via terminal (SSH) or PuTTY configuration.

User Connection For successful connection, the invited user requires private key files (.pem). These must be downloaded in advance from the Key Pairs section of the control panel and shared with the user via a separate channel. After applying the keys, the user gains access to the VM according to the configured permissions and schedule.

Revoking Access To terminate access, open the list of active invitations, locate the relevant entry, and delete it. Access will be revoked immediately, current sessions will terminate according to OS settings, and the VM configuration and data will remain unchanged.
