How to connect to a Virtual Machine with Windows Server?
If you've hosted a virtual server with Windows Server at immers.cloud, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is used by default for access — the standard method for remotely managing a Windows server with full GUI support. Additionally, our proprietary protocol, immersView, is available for connecting to your virtual machine (VM), offering a more convenient connection and management experience.
Connecting via RDP from Windows
- Decrypt your password: in the Actions menu of your VM, select Get password and click Show;
- Click on the VM's IP address — a file named
vmname.rdp will download.
- Launch this file.
- Enter the username
admin and the decrypted password.
Connecting from macOS
- Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the Mac App Store.
- In the app, click Add PC, enter the VM's IP address in the PC name field, and click Add;
- Decrypt your password: in the Actions menu, select Get password, then click Show on the page that opens.
- Connect to the added VM. Use the username
admin and the previously decrypted password to log in.

Connecting via immersView
The easiest way to connect to your virtual machine is to use a pre-configured image with the immersView server.
Standard Connection
- In your personal dashboard, open the card for the desired virtual machine;
- In the Actions menu, select Get password and click Show to decrypt the password. Copy it;
- In the VM menu, click the immersView button;
- In the login window that opens, paste the copied password and authorize.
Setting Up Automatic Password Entry
To avoid entering the password manually every time you connect, save it in immersView settings:
- In the password entry window, click the menu icon in the top-right corner;
- Go to Settings → Login;
- Click the Get password button;
- In the list that opens, select the desired VM, decrypt the password, and paste it into the input field.
immersView is a convenient way to connect to your virtual machine directly from your browser. It works on any device, under any operating system. Additionally, the service makes it easy to share VM access: to grant access to another user, simply send them the link.
